What can IXON do for you?

A small grasp out of the many possible integration-options:

Case 1

All-in-one HMI/PLC connected without extra hardware

Case 2

Infrastructure and user management for smartphone app

Case 3

Machine monitoring in one main application

All-in-one HMI/PLC connected without extra hardware

Case 1

All-in-one HMI's and PLC's are often used in smaller machines, since they are compact and relatively inexpensive. A manufacturer of these type of controllers has integrated our IXagent software, allowing their HMI/PLC to directly connect to the IXplatform without the need of an additional hardware component.

Via the touch screen on the PLC/HMI the user can enter the ID of her business account, to register the controller to the IXplatform. From that moment the controller can be programmed from anywhere in the world.

Thanks to the web-based VNC and Web viewer, users can access the HMI remotely from the IXON web application. This manufacturer has set up a separate sector within the IXplatform in which they can have their own white-labeling and business model.

Infrastructure and user management for smartphone app

Case 2

A manufacturer of building management systems has developed an accompanying smartphone app for its controllers in which customers can monitor and control their buildings. IXplatform was used to manage their infrastructure and user management. It works as follows:

The user logs in with their username and password. After verfication, the application will receive a list of all the controllers linked to the specified user. When the user selects a specific controller, the app will get instant access to the appropriate controller via the IXON WebSocket proxy.

The manufacturer has set up a separate sector within the IXplatform in which they can have their own white-labeling and private sector management to manage all their business accounts. The end customers can login to the IXplatform and are allowed to change their password or grant additional user accounts access to their controllers. Safety is guaranteed since the firewall can remain active and controllers are not openly connected to the Internet.

Machine monitoring in one main application

Case 3

A machine builder who was already using IXrouter for their remote service, decided to take it one step further. They developed an application that allows them to monitor their machines worldwide.

In order to grant their application access to all their machines a direct link was made with the IXplatform. The server authenticates using the IXON REST API and can gets access to all global machines.

The server then uses the IXplatform HTTP proxy functionality to communicate with the REST API inside their machine. This way, the machine builder can focus on its own services and security is guaranteed.
